Education for Increasing Competitiveness of Blažek Glass s.r.o.

The project "Education for Increasing Competitiveness of Blažek Glass s.r.o.", scheduled for 19 months, was launched in January 2011. It focuses on provision of comprehensive general education for employees of Blažek Glass s.r.o. with a special emphasis on the employers in the age group above 50 years.

The project, worth a total of CZK 2.4 million, is funded by the ESF via the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment and the Czech Republic’s national budget.

The project objectives follow up on the completed renovation of the existing production plants. It defines possible deficiencies in human resource management and organization of work that might occur in the company in future, and tries to resolve them by means of education.

The main project objective is therefore to prepare own staff for the planned production increase by increasing their adaptability by means of the educational courses and individual open-access seminars.

The vehicle to reach that objective is a comprehensive system of teaching modules, designed as part of the pre-project survey of the company’s educational needs. The result is classification of all the employees in three groups based on their work positions (workers, commercial department and engineers, company management). Each group is characterised by a specific education requirement and time capacity.

The project involves 55 persons in the target group (out of a total of approx. 64 employees), enrolled in 5 thematic sections of general education and 1 motivational section for the 50+ group. In total, 36 one-day or two-day training sessions will be performed.

The project relies on the training two internal foreign (Russian and English) language teachers, an internal teacher for the 50+ group, and the production and pilot validation of own teaching modules, including innovative forms of education for both existing and new employees.

The project will contribute to increasing work motivation, self-confidence and self-trust, labour productivity and quality, and the project participants’ general adaptability.
