Stories of Our Custom-Made Products
In the history of Blažek Glass, we have catered for various requirements from our customers. Here are some of the interesting stories that lie behind the individual products.

Vase for the president
On August 17th 1945, the J. Blažek Sklo Poděbrady factory hosted the Czechoslovak president, Edvard Beneš and his wife. Our glassmakers designed a vase collection with Prague motifs and the presidential couple chose one. This is another piece from the collection, which survived the communist era in a storage room and was returned to the Blažek family in restitution after 1989.
Next to the Golden Buddha in Bangkok
Thanks to Abha Kridakon, the wife of the former Thai ambassador in Czechoslovakia, our hand-cut crystal now decorates the altar of the Golden Buddha in Bangkok. During our visit to Thailand in 2016, we were pleased to spot Blažek Glass products in the abundance of flowers by Buddha’s feet.

For universities
Our longstanding cooperation with the Griffin company gave birth to a collection of hand-cut crystal keepsakes for American university graduates. Chalices, vases, carafes or whisky sets with university logos are beautiful design pieces, a lasting memory of student times and a demonstration of the pride Americans often feel for their Alma Mater.
